Can you believe she's 7!?!?

For Emma's 7th birthday she had a Build-a-Bear party. I highly recommend this, as all we had to do was show up w/ cupcakes. No clean up, I didn't even have to be in charge, they kept everybody together and helped them find the bears and accessories they wanted.

For dinner we had family over, Emma wanted orange chicken, yellow rice (chicken rice-a-roni) and rainbow jello (which I forgot to make!)

But in the end he kept the more "masculine" choice! (Much to daddy's relief)

The best sound in the world

It's a......

...disappointment -- for Riley and Emma, but for the rest of us, it's a boy! This is almost exactly what Riley's face/posture was when the dr. said it's a boy. Just picture her 2 ys. older and sucking her thumb! The girls had their hearts set on a girl, but Max is very excited Although he gets excited about anything we get excited about! and the girls will come around! It is nice that Max will have a little buddy, and Ryan thinks w/ a brother Max's love of princesses, pink, and having his toenails painted will magically go away. We'll see!!!!!

3rd & 4th of July

Our neighborhood does fireworks on the 3rd of July, so we went to our friend's block party. On the 4th we went to Ryan's co-workers house and bb-qed, but went home before the fireworks, the kids do NOT do well with late nights, especially 2 in a row!!! Waiting for the show to start

Tennis Lessons

The girls took tennis lessons in June, and they were pretty good! They really liked it too, until it got to 80 degrees by 9am, then there was some complaining! I think we will take it back up in the fall, when the weather is cooler!

Lemonade Stand

So the girls wanted to do a lemonade stand w/ the neighbors the other day. It was soooo hot! I just watched them from inside, but they were going strong after 2 hours and did not want to pack it in. They made about $8.00 total.
An the younger siblings, wanting to be involved, had a "free ice" stand right next to the lemonade stand!!!!! (How cute are they!)

Glenwood Springs

Ryan had to go to Grand Junction for work last week, so we tagged along and spent a few days in Glenwood Springs. We stayed pretty busy, there is a lot to do there. This is the start of our hike to Hanging Lake, the hike is 1.2 miles each way with an elevation change of over 1000 feet.

Max made it almost the entire way to the top. There were HUGE boulders to climb over and very steep parts.

Poor Max woke up on his birthday w/ a fever and throwing up. He went to bed right after opening his presents. Poor kid!!!
He blew out his candles but didn't even eat his cake.
Over spring break we went to the Arvada Center to see the play "A Year W/ Frog and Toad" All 3 kids loved it!

Our (April) Trip to Montana!!!!

5:00 a.m. departure
We stopped over in Rexburg to see my sisters twins be blessed. Thankfully there were 2 babies so the girls didn't fight over who got to hold the baby!!!

Teamwork. It was sooooo windy and cold that day, actually it was cold everyday we were there!

Hour 14.5 of the 15.5 hour trip home, in which I got my first ever speeding ticket (86 in a 75) Luckily it was in Montana so I paid the cop $20 and that was that!

Easter

We went to our friends for their annual Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday.
We went to a hunt the day before at some other friends, so by Sunday Max knew what was going on and got lots of loot!!!
Riley w/o shoes, as usual!!! She didn't even bother to bring them this time!


We could not get Riley to look up for the picture, she was only interested in seeing what kind of candy she got!!! Max and Emma, on the other hand, never miss an opportunity to have their picture taken!

Emma finally loses her teeth!!!

This picture was right after Emma's 2nd tooth popped out. She didn't know whether to be freaked out or happy! It was super loose, barely hanging in, but she wouldn't let me pull it, she wanted to wait for Dad to get home. Just after making that decision she bit a chip and out popped her tooth! Emma was getting frusterated because everybody, including 5 year old cousin Cloe have lost teeth. She's been waiting and waiting and now has lost 2 in about a week, and her top ones are starting to be loose too! The night she lost her 1st tooth, she came in to our bedroom really excited, at 3 in the morning, to tell us the toothfairy had come!!! Yea Emma!!!

Basketball

Emma played basketball through our rec. center this year. Ryan coached her team. It was about 75% kids from our ward, mostly unplanned that way. Both Emma and Ryan had a good time, but it was hard to get Emma to admit it. She would be running all over the court at practice and smiling and laughing, but on the way home Ryan would ask her if she had fun and she would always reply "no". She's not difficult or anything!!!
